“El Deseo” restaurant is in an enviable cultural neighbourhood in the heart of Granada. You can see the Cathedral of Granada (16th century) from our terrace. It’s one of the masterpieces of the Spanish Renaissance. All brotherhoods pass through it at Granada’s Easter celebration. It is the city’s hub.

Location, El Deseo RestaurantOur restaurant is located in one of the most typical squares, Plaza de la Romanilla, where you’ll find Federico García Lorca’s Amphitheatre-Museum. This museum, a must-see in experiencing Granada’s culture, will open soon.

We are located just minutes away from the Alcaicería, which was a typical neighbourhood featuring Muslim culture. It is known for its narrow streets along which houses were lined up as well as the souk or market, where silk was made and sold. The Alcaicería today is dedicated to tourist souvenir shops, selling Granada crafts: painted pottery known as Fajalauza, wood inlay or Marquetry and coloured-glass lanterns; plus a variety of crafts and gifts.

Granada has a wonderful covered market, El Mercado San Agustín, near Gran Vía, where one can find all kinds of shops and typical products from Granada.

It once was the stage for festivals, jousts, bullfights, commercial transactions, horse exhibitions and even acts of public penance or the burning of manuscripts and books. Plaza Bib-Rambla is currently a powerhouse of Granada’s life. The Fountain of the Giants is at its centre, surrounded by flower shops that have made this area famous.

All this excitement is only a step away from “El Deseo” Restaurant. Don’t miss it!
